Panorama Saunas

New Zealand musician Jody Direen and whitewater kayaker Barny Young are the visionaries behind Panorama Saunas. Their shared passion for the great outdoors and globetrotting adventures eventually led them to the scenic West Coast of New Zealand, where they transformed a 30-acre wilderness block into their dream home. Tucked away near the iconic Franz Josef Glacier, deep within nature's embrace, Barny and Jody envisioned a haven that promotes wellness and communion with nature. They designed their backyard to include peaceful spaces such as a man-made lake and a wood-fired barrel sauna. The benefits of regular sauna use, especially while staring out at nature through a panoramic window and when complemented by a refreshing cold plunge or shower, were profoundly transformative for them. They found their custom-made sauna to be an invaluable addition that elevated the quality of their life, Inspired by the impact of this and the quality of their new custom sauna, they felt inspired to share this enriching experience and the product they found popular overseas, initially for themselves, with others. They recognised the potential of their product to enhance backyards all over New Zealand with not just a functional asset, but also a breathtaking view. From this vision, Panorama Saunas was conceived.
