Panorama Saunas Warranty
Terms (New Zealand)

Sweat, Sleep, Repeat

Panorama Saunas Limited (“Panorama Saunas”, “we”, “us”) warrants to the original purchaser that our products will perform in accordance with the terms below (the “Warranties”).

Definitions

  • Product: Any Panorama Saunas barrel sauna and supplied parts.

  • Structure: Staves/panels, end walls, bench frames/supports, cradles/bases, porch components, roof battens/shingle substrate, and structural fasteners.

  • Other Components: Doors, door hardware, glazing/acrylic window, louvres/vents, handles, non-consumable fittings, and (where supplied by us) the electrical heater and woodfire.

  • Accessories: Benches/seating surfaces, guards, vents, buckets/ladles, thermometers, etc.

  • Consumables: Stones, routine fasteners, gaskets.

  • Residential Use: Private, non-income-generating use at a private home.

  • Commercial Use: Any use by paying guests or the public (e.g., gym, spa, retreat, hotel), or high-duty shared use.

  • Original Purchaser: The first buyer named on the invoice.

Part A — Residential Warranty (Personal Use Only)

1) Coverage & Terms

  • Structure (as defined above): 3 years, parts-only, from delivery.

  • Other Components (excluding Accessories): 2 years, parts-only

  • Accessories: 1 year, parts-only.

  • Consumables: Not covered (reasonable wear expected).

Parts-only: Remedies are limited to supplying replacement parts or materials. Labour, travel, removal/re-install, and freight are excluded unless we agree otherwise in writing. Replacement parts are supplied Ex Christchurch; we can arrange freight at cost.

2) Conditions of Cover (Owner Responsibilities)

Products must be:

  • Installed on a suitable, level, drained platform and as per our installation guidelines provided.

  • Wired by a qualified electrician.

  • Operated at ≤ 95 °C sauna room temperature as read on a calibrated hygrometer positioned above the door (centered) on the solid end wall.

  • Stored out of direct sun and rain if not immediately installed.

  • Wind zones & anchoring: In High/Very High/Extra High wind zones (per NZS 3604 or local mapping), anchoring of cradles/platform and enhanced roof-shingle adhesion are mandatory conditions of cover. Evidence (photos) may be requested.
    Routine upkeep (tightening barrel bands, wipe-down/dry-out, vaccum debris after use, periodic external oiling - no stain components, roof-shingle checks) is the owner’s responsibility.

3) Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal timber behaviour (minor shrinkage, checking, knots, colour variation, hairline cracks, peeling, delaminating, surface stains, cracking, wrinkling) and natural weathering/fading.

  • Damage from improper installation/assembly, calibrating, improper operation, unsuitable foundations, relocation after assembly, modification or third-party carriers post-installation. Damage caused by the use of uncertified sauna stones, overstacking sauna stones or stacking sauna stones incorrectly (please follow heater OEM guidelines provided).

  • Storage/UV damage when left wrapped in plastic outdoors.

  • Non-approved chemicals: essential oils/fragrances/cleaners applied to stones or timber without our approval (residue, staining, corrosion).

  • Coastal/corrosive environments without appropriate maintenance: installations within ~2 km of coastline or industrial atmospheres require more frequent rinsing, drying and oiling; corrosion/accelerated wear is excluded if maintenance appropriate to the environment is not evidenced.

  • Operation above 95 °C, blocked vents, or use in sealed rooms without fresh-air exchange.

  • Acts of God/force majeure (storm, flood, earthquake, ground movement).

  • Demo or “scratch & dent” items sold as-is.

  • Not caring for timber, not applying timber coating every 6-12 months (non-stain components, oil only)

  • Poor, inadequate or improper maintenance of Product by the original purchaser.

  • Damage caused by rodents or pests

  • Commercial or industrial use of any kind.

4) What We’ll Do

At our option, we will repair or supply replacement parts for confirmed defects in materials or workmanship within the applicable period. Replacement parts may be new or refurbished and functionally equivalent.

5) Delivery & Transit Damage

Inspect the crate and contents at delivery. Note visible damage on the carrier’s docket at the time of delivery and notify us within 48 hours with photos of the packaging and affected parts. Transit-damage claims made outside this timeframe may not be accepted.

6) How to Make a Warranty Claim

Include your invoice number, photos/video, a brief description of how/when it occurred and (for electric units). We may request commissioning photos (platform, anchoring, ventilation, clearances). Do not operate a unit that may be unsafe.

7) Consumer Law (Residential)

For residential consumer purchases, nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Part B — Commercial Use (By Prior Written Approval Only)

Commercial operation is only permitted with Panorama Saunas’ prior written approval and a signed Commercial Use Agreement (CUA).

1) Coverage & Terms (with a signed CUA)

  • Structure: up to 36 months, parts-only.

  • Doors/Windows & Acrylic/Plexiglass: 12 months, parts-only.

  • Electrical Heaters/Controllers: 12 months, parts-only (or per heater OEM, if shorter).

  • Accessories: 12 months, parts-only.

  • Consumables: Not covered.

2) CGA Contracting-Out (Commercial Only)

Both parties confirm they are “in trade” for the purposes of section 43 of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and agree, to the extent permitted by law, to contract out of its provisions.

3) Without a signed CUA

Commercial operation is not approved and no warranty applies.

 

Part C — General Terms (Apply to All Warranties)

1) Local Regulations & Consents

You are responsible for obtaining and complying with all local laws and requirements (including building/resource consents, fire/flue standards, electrical standards, and any site-specific bylaws). Any information we provide is general and not tailored to your circumstances. We are not liable for costs associated with modifications, permits, inspections, or compliance activities.

2) Limitations & Transfer

  • Warranty is for the Original Purchaser and site-specific. Transfer requires our prior written consent (commercial transfers only as permitted in the CUA).

  • Products must not be altered or modified without our prior written consent.

  • These Warranties supersede any other implied or oral undertakings.

3) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law:

  • We exclude indirect, special, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of use, data, business, or profits.

  • Our aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the purchase price of the affected Product.

4) Electrical Connection (All Electric Units)

All electrical connections (and disconnections) must be carried out by a qualified electrical contractor in accordance with national electrical standards, with RCD protection. Failure to do so will void the warranty. We may request proof of compliant installation.

5) Governing Law & Contract Documents

  • These terms are governed by New Zealand law, with exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.

  • The Warranty consists of: these Warranty Terms, your invoice, our Pre-Delivery/Installation Guide, Owner’s Manual, and (for commercial) the CUA. If there is any conflict, the CUA (commercial) or these Warranty Terms (residential) prevail.
