How Is Panorama Saunas Different?

When it comes to investing in a sauna, not all are created equal.

At Panorama Saunas, we’re passionate about producing a product that not only looks stunning in natural settings but also performs beautifully and delivers a deeper, more immersive experience.

Here’s what sets us apart.

Our full fisheye acrylic plexiglass dome is our signature feature. Unlike saunas with flat ends, the curved panoramic dome adds light, space and absolute wow-factor, extending nearly half a metre beyond the barrel with an internal wrap-around bench that hugs the inside. It’s designed to connect you with your surroundings, whether you're soaking in alpine views or stargazing flat on your back. The dome increases internal space at the apex, creating a spacious and luxurious feel inside.

Signature
Panoramic Dome

We focus solely on panoramic barrel saunas.
Unlike companies with a broad product range, we specialise in this unique and more complex design. The curved panoramic window offers both striking aesthetic appeal and a deeply immersive sauna experience — but it also presents manufacturing challenges that we’ve spent time, care and resources refining. We personally test our saunas on New Zealand’s rugged West Coast, where the weather is extreme and fluctuating. By dedicating ourselves to one product type, we offer genuine expertise, knowledgeable support and advice you can trust — from your first enquiry to installation and beyond. That’s why we’re New Zealand’s #1 supplier of panoramic barrel saunas.

One Product, Done Right

Our panoramic barrel saunas are designed with both visual impact and internal space in mind. The extended depth from the overhanging sphere-shaped window and wrap-around internal seating creates a noticeably roomier feel compared to more compact or flat-walled models. The bench layout allows you to sit comfortably or tuck your legs under, avoiding the rigid, upright seating found in some other saunas. It’s a small but important detail that makes every session feel more relaxing and less confined, whether you’re stretching out solo or sharing the space with others.

Internal Space

At Panorama Saunas, we use virtually knot-free, FSC-certified clear-grade spliced cedar — a conscious choice both for quality and environmental reasons. By splicing shorter lengths of cedar together, we can utilise the full tree compared to full-length cedar staves. This process not only reduces waste but also helps us offer clear-grade cedar at a more accessible price point for Kiwis. Many saunas on the market use heavily knotted cedar. Knots are prone to falling out and don’t expand or contract consistently with heat and humidity, which can lead to warping and instability over time. Our spliced clear cedar not only looks refined and consistent, but it also offers better dimensional stability than full-length knotty timber.

We’re not a faceless brand. We live and breathe this lifestyle ourselves — our saunas are perched beside our lake on the West Coast. We use them daily. And we love sharing that joy with other Kiwis. We offer friendly, honest support throughout the journey, from advice on site prep to aftercare and troubleshooting. No hard sell, just genuine enthusiasm for helping you create something special on your property.

Local Knowledge, Real Support

We believe a sauna should be more than a barrel that gets hot — it should be a place of presence, restoration and reconnection. That’s what we’ve built with Panorama Saunas.

We’d love to help you create your own sanctuary.
